My professional career
My path into media production has been varied and exciting. Here is an overview of the most important stages:
08/1994 – 07/1995:
Higher vocational school for economics and administration, graduation according to IHK guidelines
11/1995 – 10/1996: Community service at the special needs kindergarten of Lebenshilfe f. geistig Behinderte Bonn e.V. (Life Assistance for the Mentally Disabled) as a caregiver and domestic helper
11/1996 – 01/1999:
Training as an advertising executive (copywriting and media planning) at Gratzfeld Werbeagentur GmbH, Wesseling
07/1997 – 01/2001:
Freelance employee at Radio Bonn/Rhein-Sieg as audio producer and on-air consultant
01/1999 – present:
Sole trader/freelancer as marketing consultant, text & concept, print & audio communication with own recording studio in Sinzig, later Königswinter-Oberdollendorf and Sankt Augustin – Buisdorf
09/2001 – 05/2003:
Sound designer for film & TV at AQUEST GmbH in Hürth (full-time)
05/2003: Takeover of AQUEST GmbH after insolvency by pictorion_Das Werk Köln GmbH
01/2004 – 03/2024:
Sound designer for film & TV at TORUS GmbH, Cologne (full-time), since 05/2004 project manager/sound supervisor
2008 – present:
Internal training and practical supervision of trainees and interns
06/2008:
Development of additional skills in the field of video (self-taught and web-based), purchase of first professional EB camera (at that time: Canon XH-A1)
08/2012 – 09/2013:
Private training in cameras, lighting, and editing programs by Hans Dreyer (HD Medienberatung) and Rainer Wollsiefen (cameraman/Member of the examination board IHK), first freelance camera (assistant) jobs
2013 – present:
Expansion of freelance activities to include video production, photography, graphic and web design, purchase of various professional cameras, camera and lighting equipment
2013 – present:
Production of various live events (video/audio), various product and corporate films (concept/text/production)
2024: Distance learning course/further training in Adobe After Effects/Motion Design FSD
